Quick answers.
It records and analyses work activity on company devices, such as time, apps, websites, screenshots and files, to measure productivity, support compliance and detect security risks.
It depends on the country, state and what you collect. Many places require notice or consent, and laws such as GDPR limit data collection. Get legal advice and write a clear policy before deploying.
Tell employees what is collected and why, collect only what you need, limit who sees the data and review it regularly. Transparent tools used for coaching tend to be accepted better than hidden ones.
Productivity tools focus on time and work patterns. Insider-risk tools focus on data movement and risky behaviour, and often combine with data loss prevention.
Check the data collected, privacy controls, transparency options, reporting, integrations, platform support, security certifications and price per user.
