Frequently Asked Questions
Which cloud regions does India have?
As of 3 November 2026, AWS lists Mumbai and Hyderabad, Microsoft Azure lists Pune, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad, Google Cloud lists Mumbai and Delhi, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure lists Mumbai and Hyderabad in their own region documentation. Check each provider for new regions.
What is Vultr planning in India?
The Times of India reported on 3 November 2026 that Vultr plans to scale Indian AI compute capacity to 1 GW by 2029, starting with a 20 MW AI cluster in a Chennai data centre that it aims to operationalise by March 2027. These are Vultr's stated plans, and details such as GPU counts vary across sources.
Are there Indian alternatives to the global hyperscalers?
Yes. Indian providers such as Yotta, E2E Networks, Tata Communications, Sify, CtrlS, NxtGen and ESDS offer cloud, GPU and colocation services, and several supply GPUs under the IndiaAI Mission. Features, pricing and certifications differ, so evaluate each against your needs.
What is the IndiaAI Mission compute programme?
It is a government programme to give startups, researchers and others access to subsidised AI compute through empanelled cloud providers and the IndiaAI Compute Portal. Press reports from 2025 named Yotta, E2E Networks and NxtGen among the first providers integrated with the portal. Check the portal for the current list.
Is this a ranking?
No. Public data does not allow a reliable ranking across hyperscale regions, Indian providers, colocation operators and government platforms, so the page groups entries by type and does not rank them. Descriptions come from each provider's own sites and documentation, and vendor claims are attributed.
How current is this page?
Links and region names were checked on 3 November 2026. The Vultr entry reflects a report dated that day. Capacity, GPU counts, pricing and regions change often, so confirm details on each provider's own page. Sites that block automated checks, such as Vultr and NeevCloud, are kept and may need a manual click.
